Background
Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition with widespread pain, fatigue and sleep problems. No laboratory test tracks its course, so to follow a patient over time the doctor relies mainly on what the patient reports, collected through validated questionnaires. Months can pass between visits, and what happens in between usually goes unrecorded.
What the platform does
Patients complete PRO questionnaires on the app. Doctors review how the scores change over time and, when needed, arrange a video consultation without the patient having to travel. All centres in the network use the same system and the same assessment tools, which makes data collected at different sites comparable.
Numbers
The platform involves 23 centres, 91 physicians and 4,819 patients. With repeated measurements taken with the same tools on the same patients, it is also a solid basis for the disease registry and for further analysis.
